Bill Brotherton:

As an adolescent I excelled in many sports. But as an ectomorph, gaining strength and size to my 6'2" frame 155 pound body seemed impossible. Then I began powerlifting and bodybuilding.

During 14 years of competitive bodybuilding I gained 126 pounds of hard earned muscle, averaging 10 pounds of muscle gain per year. I started out at 155 pounds and maxed out at 281 pounds, battling super-heavy-weights in the gym, training under world class powerlifters and bodybuilders on the professional level. It is amazing to look back on 29 competitions and winning heavyweight Mr. Texas and Mr. Georgia!

I sustained a few serious injuries including a torn right pectoral tendon which ended my bodybuilding career. My passion for the sport remains unchanged. I know what it takes: proper nutrition, rigorous workouts, adequate supplementation, rest, positive attitude and commitment.

I became a personal trainer in 1988 and opened my first gym, Headlands Fitness, in 2001. After 5 successful years, I consolidated my business with my wife's two businesses, Xhale and Sweatshop. We now operate as Pulse Fitness.
